Training
The purpose of the Parolee Reentry Job Training Program is to provide job training services, prior to being released from probation, to eligible parolee ages (14-25 ) returning to Los Angeles County from juvenile and adult correctional facilities for the goal of obtaining employment to assist in reducing recidivism.
Description The program provides job training, life skills, counseling, job-seeking skills, job referrals, and other activities to parolees ages 14-25.
Eligibility The Los Angeles County Probation Department must refer parolees.
Procedure The Greater United Faith Apostolic Church Career Development Program and Mike Kennedy, Certified Security Officer Trainer, jointly identify qualified Parolee. All qualified Parolee will complete an 8 Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course prior to applying to the Department of State for a Security Guard Registration Card, followed by a 16 Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards within 90 days of initial employment as a security guard, and annually complete an 8 Hour Annual In-service Training Course for Security Guards every year.
